Randy Beth-Eve Yaskal
is owner of the Center for International Studies and
Foreign Languages.
CISFL Translations is
a 100% certified woman owned business in the
Commonwealth of Virginia which specializes in
technical translations and interpreting. We are E-VA
compliant.
Yaskal’s love of
languages and cultures began at an early age and was encouraged by her international airline pilot father, who spoke
many languages. The family home on the Great South Bay of Long Island was decorated with
treasures representing a multitude of cultures from
various locations, which her father collected during
his travels. It was a household custom for the family to greet international visitors with a few words in their native language. The family
often traveled to international destinations.
Yaskal’s love of all things international, begun in childhood,
and endures to this day.
Ms Yaskal’s specific expertise in
the Spanish language began with her father’s ancestry. Many living relatives still reside in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The family would routinely avoid using any English during summer visits to their vacation home in
Palmas Del Mar, Puerto Rico.
Ms. Yaskal’s first husband, a Luxembourg national, whose parents were born in Algarve, Portugal, was fluent in nine languages. The multi-lingual dinners she began hosting during her marriage continue, and to this day a party guest at her home will
usually hear more than one language spoken during a
meal.
Ms Yaskal incorporated
her first music management business when she was
just 20 years old. She attended the Crane School of
Music in Potsdam, New York. In 1980 she was
offered a position at PolyGram Records in Manhattan.
During her summers she obtained a Real Estate
license and sold homes on the weekend on the Gold
Coast of Long Island. Ms. Yaskal improved the
sales of this agency three-fold during her
employment and realized that her love of business
equaled her love of music and things international.
Her son was born in 1982. Making the hard decision to give up her position at PolyGram Records, which required traveling back and forth to New York City, she continued her education at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York where she majored in Business Administration. She moved to Charlottesville, Virginia after her divorce in 1988.
Ms Yaskal created The Center for International Studies and Foreign Languages
in 1989. This allowed her to continue
combining her passion for languages,
international music, culture and business.
